DIRECTOR OF RECRUITING OPERATIONS AND CREATIVE CONTENT COLSTEN THOMPSON

Colsten Thompson joined the Alabama women's basketball staff in the fall of 2022 as the Director of Recruiting Operations and Creative Content.

Prior to Alabama, he served as an assistant coach for the Lipscomb women’s basketball program. While with Lipscomb, Thompson had a recruiting focus where he directed recruiting visits, mail outs and creative content. On the court, he worked primarily with the point guards. Two players received postseason recognition with Bella Vinson being named to the ASUN All-Freshman Team and Sydney Shelton earning All-Academic honors.

During the 2020-21 season, he worked as a graduate assistant for Louisiana Tech and helped the Bulldogs to a 14-10 record. He also served two years as a student assistant at the University of Alabama-Huntsville.Thompson performed a myriad of duties in his time at both programs including assisting with skill development and availability of players, developing scouting reports and game strategies and content creation. In addition to assisting with various miscellaneous tasks for the teams, Thompson's expertise helped every program he worked with to winning seasons during his time there.

Thompson graduated from the University of Alabama-Huntsville in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Fitness and Management after playing stops at both Wallace State CC and the University of Tennessee Southern. He earned a Master’s in Business Administration from Louisiana Tech.

Thompson and his wife Mackenzie reside in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
